Instituto Cultural Oaxaca
Spanish Language Programs
The Instituto Cultural Oaxaca is a Spanish Language School in Oaxaca with more than 35 years of experience teaching Spanish as a Second Language. We offer various Spanish Language Programs for adults and children.
In all of our programs, students learn vocabulary and grammar appropriate for each level through the four language skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Also, students can develop an understanding of Oaxacan and Mexican culture through the reading, analysis, and discussion of Spanish language content.
Spanish Programs Available

Main Spanish Language Program
The Institute offers six levels of beginning through advanced Spanish instruction. Spanish classes at the Institute are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They are developed within the Communicative Model, a model that focuses on the student’s need to understand and use the fundamentals of the language daily.
The organization of each of our lessons emphasizes communication functions, linguistic and cultural content, and activities to develop the four abilities of the language: written and auditory understanding and oral and written expression. On arrival at the Institute, students are given a written and oral placement test to determine their class level.
This program is for students who want to focus on improving their Spanish language knowledge and skills. The program provides you with up to 4 daily contact hours of total immersion.
Each day students will have two hours of Spanish Language Classes followed by two hours of language and culture classes about culture, literature, history, gastronomy, and art to practice what they have learned during the first two hours.
